Admission
to First year Engineering 2004-2005 under the Linguistic Minority
Category / Management Quota:
The SIES Graduate School of Technology
established in 2002 is run and administered by the South Indian
Education Society which has been accorded the South Indian linguistic
minority status as per the provisions in the Constitution.
Candidates will be eligible for admission to the first year engineering
courses through the seats under the linguistic minority category
provided, their mother tongue is either Tamil or Malayalam or Telugu
or Kannada or Konkani or Tulu.
Candidates seeking admission through the linguistic minority category
should have domicile status in the State of Maharashtra. They should
submit an affidavit on a Rs. 20/- stamp paper that they have a domicile
status in the State of Maharashtra and their mother tongue is any
one of the six languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu Kannada, Konkani
or Tulu. The candidates should submit the domicile certificate in
support of their status.
Eligibility Criteria for Minority / Management Quota seats :
Educational qualification : In order to secure admission to first
year of four year Degree courses in Engineering/technology, the
candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria :
Passed
the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of secondary
and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with
English as one of the subjects
all the subjects mentioned under Group-I and
any one of the subjects from Group-II
Group-I (all subjects from this group are compulsory)
1. Physics
2. Mathematics
Group - II (any one of the subjects from this Group)
1. Chemistry
2. Biology
3. Bio-technology
4. Computer Science
Secured
minimum 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and the subject of maximum
marks amongst the four subjects of Group-II, added together.
AND
Appeared
for the Maharashtra - Engineering - Common Entrance Test (MAH-EN-CET-2004)
conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic year 2004-2005
and secured nonzero score.
The
SIES Graduate School offers the following 3 branches in Engineering:
a. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
b. Information Technology
c. Computer Engineering
There are 60 seats in each of these 3 branches and 50% of the total
no. of seats in each branch will be available for the Linguistic
Minority Category including maximum 20% management quota.
All students applying for admission under the linguistic minority
category/management quota should fill in the prescribed application
form available at the SIES Graduate School of Technology on payment
of Rs. 500/- The forms will be available from 10.07.2004 to 17.07.2004
between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on each working day. The completed application
form together with attested copies of supporting documents mentioned
below should be submitted to the Graduate School Office before 3
p.m on 17.07.2004.

Incomplete application forms may not be considered and therefore,
candidates should take care to fill in the form completely.

If supporting documents are not in order, the application is
liable to be rejected.

Once the application form together with the attested copies
of documents are submitted to the college office, candidates will
not be permitted to change any entry or submit any fresh copies
of documents subsequently.

Original documents should not be submitted with the application
form. Only attested copies are required.

In the event of any document submitted by the student or the
information supplied by him/her is found to be false or incorrect,
the admission granted to him/her is liable to be cancelled by the
competent authority which would be the Principal.
5. Fees : The fee payable for the course will be intimated separately.
Candidates shall also be required to pay fees as prescribed by the
University from time to time.
Fees may be paid by cash or Demand Draft / Pay order/ Banker's cheque
in favour of SIES Graduate School of Technology.
6. The South Indian Education Society enjoys the minority status
and shall be the sole and competent authority for deciding the criteria
of admission of students to the first year engineering in the Graduate
School Of Technology under the South Indian Linguistic Minority
category/Management quota.
